What Members Can Do
- Pension statement — request your individual benefit statement from AFM-EPF under ERISA. You are entitled to it.
- Books and records — LMRDA Title V lets a member demand an accounting and inspect the local's financial records.
- DOL hotline — 1-866-487-2365 (DOL) for election complaints, fiduciary issues, or failure to provide records.
- LM-2 — download the local's and the AFM's annual reports from the DOL OLMS site. Read the schedules.
- Minutes — ask the hall for the full minutes of membership meetings, not the summary.
- AFM International — file a complaint with the International Executive Board if the local is not following its own bylaws or the federation's.
- Local 429 — IBEW Local 429 (Nashville electricians) still runs a hall. Not a place to join. A place to see what the paper looks like when the membership votes. Hall is at 2001 Elm Hill Pike.
